Mr Rafet Gazvani, MD, FRCOG Consultant Gynaecologist Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.
Mr R Gazvani is a Consultant Gynaecologist, Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. As a Health Professional with over 30 years’ experience Mr Gazvani is committed to provide safe, individualised, evidence based treatment supported by common sense decisions..
Having graduated from the University of Istanbul in 1986, Mr Gazvani completed his post-graduate training in Liverpool and became a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen in 1998. He was appointed as a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Aberdeen in 2001 before moving back to Liverpool as Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in 2002.
Mr Gazvani’s special areas of interest have been in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), improving IVF pregnancy rates, reproductive immunology (natural killer cells/NK cells), failed IVF (implantation failure) and egg donation (egg donation abroad), sperm donation, surrogacy, endometriosis and laparoscopic surgery. He is widely published with over 80 articles in scientific journals and books. He is accepted to be a world expert in IVF and endometriosis. He has been the author of and referee for a number of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists’ guidelines such as “Management of endometriosis”.
Mr Gazvani’s NHS post at the Liverpool Women's Hospital is mostly based at the Hewitt Fertility Centre in Liverpool and Knutsford, Manchester where Mr Gazvani is the Consultant-in-Charge. The Hewitt Fertility Centre is one of the largest NHS IVF units in the UK. Mr Gazvani also undertakes work as a private gynaecologist and fertility specialist in Harley Street, London and Abbey Fertility, Chester.
Pav Kaur
Pav is a graduate of English Literature from the University of Leicester. Following graduation, Pav worked as a teacher in the same field before moving into management in the field of fertility. Her hobbies include reading in copious volumes and Shakespeare plays.
